I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with one of my best friends. He showed me his latest architectural design project this afternoon: a martini lounge in Chicago. He's doing a great job! Let me know if you need an awesome interior architect to help design a space for you!!

My soon-to-be in-laws got home from their southwest vacation and brought me back this unexpected, beautiful gift: a Navajo handcrafted turquoise pendant necklace.

DF and I spent the day in Iowa City for his transfer student orientation. I think I look like I have some beaver teeth trying to stick out. lol.

Went about the laborious task of cleaning my makeup brushes. It took a while, but now they're all extra soft and clean.

Finally went and saw Star Trek today (it was great) -- haven't been to the movies for a long while.

My stingy landlady is getting me a new shower surround!! It's in my living room at the moment.

We met two random guys in line at the local ice cream shop who were bicycling from Chicago to California. DF is a cyclist who works in a bike shop, so we went over there after ice cream and he opened up shop after hours and helped them with a few problems they were having. Hope they have fun on their journey. Kind of made me want to do it someday too.

Went to a knitting retreat with Mom today, hence the reason I learned how to knit. After hours of work, you can see how little I seem to have finished. It is a great lesson in patience. Oh, and I accidentally made a big hole in my project.

I got a tungsten wedding band that "matches" DF's for those occasions when I can't or don't want to wear my fancy gemstones.

At the encouragement of some of my girlfriends, I started reading the Twilight series. I enjoyed the first book enough that I went and bought the second one today. It took me a while to get used to the somewhat juvenile style of writing, but now I am thoroughly engrossed in the characters and can't put it down.

Spent many hours today cataloging and organizing my BE eyeshadows with some help from Mom. Now they're all in nice little drawers and labeled. I didn't count, but there's probably between 200-300ish of them.
