We went and watched DF's 11-and-under soccer team that he coaches play today. I'd say that's a classic wrap-the-leg-around-and-trip-you foul being committed by the other team.

My hairdresser gave me a $150 curling iron to borrow for my wedding this summer. It is really awesome and gets super hot. The brand is worn off, so I'm not sure what kind it is. Anyway, my hair is holding this curl, and has been for hours in the Iowa humidity with absolutely no styling product in it whatsoever. I think it's because it gets so super hot. I'm afraid that it'll fry my hair off, but I feel like I need to "practice" fixing it since I don't want an up-do.

Got a wild hair up my butt today when I was at Walgreens and bought a set of false nails, which I had fun putting on. Thought they turned out kind of cute. I always wear my nails super short, so we'll see how long they last.

When I saw my DF for the first time this evening, I told him that I gave myself a nasty cut in the kitchen today. He said he sliced his finger at work today too, on the lid of a hummus container. Upon further discussion, we learned that we had both randomly cut our fingers at different times and places on the very same brand of hummus lid. It was even the same flavor, Pine Nut Hummus. Here are our damaged fingers.

I'm sure everyone is sick of pictures of me studying, but that's just about all I seem to be doing most of the time. So here's a goofy self-portrait for ya. I would normally never let an asinine picture like this of myself ever be seen, but this photo blogging is helping me get rid of my inhibitions. He he he. Let's bring back the side ponytail. Oh, yeah!!

Studying sublingual dosage forms for Donovan's final. I like how my hand nearest the camera looks GIANT. Funny. Made me smile, anyway.

From dear Audrey, for being alluring, amuzing, bewitching, impressive and inspiring. I'm sure that I am none of these things either, but thank you for the honor.

Upon nearing my house on the way home from a meeting today, I came upon this crash scene. This picture was taken from my front yard. There were several police cars, an ambulance and flashing lights everywhere. Apparently, the SUV rear-ended the moped, which then hit and went under the bus. Luckily, the moped driver was conscious and only complaining of leg pain. Even more fortunate, we're a block or so from the university hospital and its emergency room. I hope everyone is okay.

Picnic lunch at the dog park today. We don't have a dog, but it was beautiful outside this afternoon, and we like to watch the furballs run around.
Also, we went and washed the car this morning, finding several dents and many scratches from the tree limbs that fell on it which were originally covered by the debris. We called the truck company, and he told us that he lent the car to a friend and his daughter, who were in our city last night, and that they did admit to him that they damaged his truck and didn't realize that they had caused any damage to our vehicle.
How you don't notice an 8-foot branch falling two stories and landing on a car, I don't know. BUT they are so far working with us to get it fixed. We'll see how that goes. Everyone can be nice until they have to fork over some money.
And I don't know why my space between paragraphs won't save.

Long story for today....We walked home tonight and noticed several big branches laying next to my car. I made DF pick one up for perspective so you can see how big it is. Then we thought, "How did this happen?" since the branches were so large.

We turned around to look at the tree and noticed a large chunk missing from a lower branch. Next we thought, "What could have possibly done that?" And looked around to find a giant truck sitting in the parking lot a few spaces down.

Upon further inspection of the truck, we noticed the top passenger side was smashed in. Obviously, the truck hit the tree, breaking the branches off that hit my car. No note, no nothing. Just a bunch of branches and a scraped, leafy car roof.
Here's my poor car.
