February 10

This morning I went and got my third of three Hep B vaccine shots. It was my first experience at Student Health Services, and it was great. The place was really nice and everyone was friendly. The whole visit from checking in to walking out of the door took about 5 minutes. Not to mention, it's right down the street within a five-minute walking distance. Bonus. The nurse was kind enough to let me snap this photo. She said that she had been on three news programs giving shots to people, including ABC's national news. Good to know we've got the best here in Iowa!! And, she was super nice.

Today is my best friend's birthday. Mandy would have been 31 years old. That's so weird to think about, since she is frozen in time as an 18-year-old. RIP Mandy Marie.

An upside-down sign outside of Bowen Science Building. We had our first pharmacology exam today. Glad it's done with. More importantly, I just got to use my favorite book--"One Word, Two Words, Hyphenated?"--to figure out how to write "upside-down". :)

February 8

I don't know why, but this spam especially cracked me up.

February 7

It was nice on Saturday, so DF and I took a stroll around campus. The interviews for this coming year's fall class started today. It is amazing to think that I was interviewing for a spot in the class of 2012 a year ago. Time flies when you're having fun. Or as Dad always says, time's fun when you're having flies.

Five hours of lecture today in the same seat in this lecture hall. Ugh.

February 4

So just in case anyone doesn't believe me that my landlord is crazy with the parking, here's some proof before the snow melts. She PLOWS the lawn. That's right. A truck with a plow drives over the grass and pushes the snow away. A former tenant told me she got in trouble last year because she was having the snow pushed across the street onto university property. Anything to get one...more....car....squeezed in. I wonder if she pays taxes on the thousands she makes by doing this.

February 3

I had to exchange something I bought online. They had a "pre-paid" label I could use, in which case they would charge me $6.90. OR I could use my own postage.....it was only $1.51. I can't believe what a rip shipping and handling rates are.

Did my first IPE rotation today. Got to follow a bunch of residents and doctors around the hospital. Kind of interesting, but I still don't think I want to do hospital work. The funniest part of my day? I accidently superpoked every single friend I have on facebook. Honest mistake, but it's pretty funny to me.

February 1

Happy February everyone!! Did I mention that my fiance is a vampire??

My girlfriend EH told me about picnik.com. Check it out. It's free and you can edit photos. Much more user friendly than Photoshop, and it's fun. The picture above has NOT been edited. He really is a vampire. Really.
